- Up to 4 players
- Phone, tablet or computer
How a 1v1 match works
- Tap Play as Guest, then Quick Match in the menu.
- You're paired with one opponent and a 3 second countdown starts.
- You both guess the same five-letter word on your own boards. First to turn all five tiles green wins the round.
- Three rounds of 2 minutes each. Win more rounds than your opponent to win the match.
- The result screen shows who won. Tap Play again to queue for the next one.
While you play you can see how many guesses your opponent has used and how many letters they've found, so you know when to play safe and when to gamble. Their letters stay hidden. Send a quick reaction when they pull off a great guess, or when you do.
Built for fair duels
- Never stuck waiting: when nobody else is queuing, a computer opponent takes the seat after a short wait. Those games count in your own stats, not on the leaderboard.
- Fair disconnects: if your opponent's phone drops, the clock pauses while they reconnect. Each player gets 90 seconds of away time per game.
- Your record: make a free account to track your wins, win rate and streaks, and climb the weekly leaderboard.

Wordle 1v1: questions
How do I play Wordle 1v1 online?
Tap Play as Guest, then Quick Match in the menu. You are paired with one opponent, a 3 second countdown starts, and you both race to solve the same word over 3 rounds of 2 minutes. Win more rounds than your opponent to win the match.
Who will I play against?
Other players looking for a 1v1 at the same time. When nobody else is queuing, a computer opponent takes the seat after a short wait so you are not left waiting. Games against computer opponents count in your own stats but not on the leaderboard.
Can I play a 1v1 against a friend instead?
Yes. Create a room, send your friend the invite link and start when they join. You choose 1 to 10 rounds and a timer of 30 seconds to 5 minutes per word.
What if my opponent disconnects?
In a 1v1 the clock pauses while they reconnect. Each player gets 90 seconds of away time per game; after that, or if they leave, you win.
